Welcome to NZ Beauty Academy (NZBA)! We are a beauty academy that opened its doors in early 2024. Our academy is owned by Jamie Te Koeti and Tessa Jenkins, both of whom have a remarkable combined experience of 34 years in the beauty industry.
At NZBA, we recognised a gap within our industry and saw an opportunity to fill it by offering high-quality advanced training for beauty professionals. Our goal is to help beauty professionals upskill and create additional avenues for their businesses to thrive.

Jamie Te Koeti
Jamie Te Koeti (nee Flynn) - Owner and tutor at NZBA
I am thrilled to share my journey in the beauty industry with you. With 17 years of experience under my belt, I hold a Diploma in Beauty Therapy and ITEC qualifications. I am also proud to have a NZ certificate in adult tertiary education and was honoured to be awarded the title of NZ Beauty Tutor of the Year in 2021.
Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work in various locations across New Zealand and Australia, gaining valuable knowledge and experiences. However, my true passion lies in the skin. I find immense joy in making a difference for my clients and helping them achieve their desired results. But it's not just skin that captivates me; I adore all aspects of beauty.
For the past eight years, I have been teaching beauty therapy across all programs at Ara Institute of Canterbury. This role has allowed me to make a positive impact by helping therapists become the best versions of themselves. I believe in equipping them with the necessary tools and unwavering support to excel in all areas of beauty therapy.

Tessa Jenkins
Tessa Jenkins - Cosmetic brow tattooing tutor at NZBA
I have 17 years of experience in the beauty industry. I've had the pleasure of working throughout New Zealand and also in the United Kingdom.
Beauty therapy is my true passion, and I find joy in all areas of it. However, two areas hold a special place in my heart: brows and the skin. There's something magical about shaping and enhancing brows to bring out the natural beauty in every client. Additionally, I love everything related to skin, and helping people achieve healthy, glowing skin is incredibly rewarding.
In terms of qualifications, I hold a Diploma in Beauty Therapy and have obtained ITEC qualifications. In 2017, I completed my Cosmetic Brow Tattooing qualifications in Sydney Australia, further expanding my skill set in this specialised field.
For the past seven years, I have been the proud owner of Beauty Assets, my own beauty clinic. As part of my commitment to offering the best beauty experience, I have also created my own skincare range called Skin by Beauty Assets.
Now I’m excited to venture into the education side of beauty with Jamie. I'm thrilled to share my knowledge and experience with aspiring beauty professionals, and I'm dedicated to helping them succeed in their own journeys.
